Cosplay Schedule for Sakura-con 2013!

Unicorns! I'm finally recovered from Emerald City Comic-con (JUST BARELY), and now it's time for another convention to kick my butt with awesome. This time it's SAKURA-CON, Seattle's biggest anime/manga convention. It's a blast, rife with incredible cosplay and an epic dealer's room. This con is one of my most "mellow" of the year, in that I am NOT on any panels or signings. I'm just cosplaying every single day!

My cosplay lineup!

Princess Neptune from Sailor Moon

Friday, March 29th

The Evil Queen from Snow White

Saturday, March 30th

Blue Arpakasso

Sunday, March 31st

How am I going to pull off the Arpakasso? Well, watch for me and find out! And if you're not at the con, watch my Instagram for pics throughout the convention.

What about you guys? Who's going to Sakura-con? Who's cosplaying?

Outfit #59: Random Access Memories

Dress: H&M // Jacket: Thrifted // Boots: Beyond the Rack // Small Quartz Necklace c/o // Long Quartz Necklace c/o Poor Sparrow

This outfit was actually from last week and I don't usually post things on the weekend so I saved it until today. That jacket would NOT work right now, because it's about 60 degrees Fahrenheit outside right now. FINALLY, SEATTLE IS GIVING US SPRING (and it was snowing on Friday). I'm sooo ready for sunshine, I've definitely been feeling depressed after months of leaving work when it's dark and it being nothing but overcast and drizzly. I love Seattle, but hot damn it can be very depressing at times.

Summertime means BBQs, weekend LARPing camping trips, and most importantly: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON!!! I'm incredibly excited.

I spent the weekend working on cosplay for Sakura-con with Sarah - we ran a ton of errands and most everything is purchased/assembled! I'll be posting my cosplay lineup in another blog post. Already thinking of what I need to get done before SDCC, AND yesterday I was asked to model in a cosplay calendar so I need to dream up some "sexier" costumes for that. Any suggestions of characters you guys would like to see me cosplay? Keep in mind it has to be someone with curves, cause there's no way I could ever make myself look like a scrawny anime girl.

And in other news, I love this dress. I just love Scandinavian prints, and this SCREAMS Swedish design to me. I'd expect to see this print on pillows at IKEA... Oh, and the necklace. I've been wearing it practically every day. I LOVE RAW STONES. Thanks, Poor Sparrow <3

Outfit #58: Never Look Back

Dress: Forever 21 // Sweater: Forever 21 // Hat: H&M // Boots: Litas by Jeffrey Campbell // Ring c/o Starlight Woods

My hand looks weird in that picture. Why does my hand look weird in that picture? WHAT IS GOING ON!?

Tonight I'm having a cosplay marathon/snack-a-thon with Sarah, and then tomorrow we're going to a vintage fair to shop around. PHOTOS INCOMING.

I got this sweater on sale at Forever21 with 50% off the sale price, so it was only about $5.00. Exciting day!

I have nothing interesting to say. Here's a cute gif of a kitten.

Outfit #57: Spring has Sprung

Dress: Thrifted // Hat: Forever21 // Boots: Litas by Jeffrey Campbell // Belt: Forever21 // Necklace c/o Pauletta Brooks Wearable Art // "Fuck Off" Rings c/o Vidakush

Oh, I'm so relieved that spring is here! Seattle may not be acting like it yet (torrential downpour and sideways winds, anyone?) BUT thanks to daylight savings I get more daylight... which means after a long winter of hibernation and hiding in a cave of blankets and anime video games, I can finally come back and give you guys outfit pictures. YAY AREN'T YOU EXCITED?!

This dress was in my collection of "to alter" dresses, and I pulled it out the other day to go thrifting with a friend and decided I love it as is. My decision on what hemline length I like to wear changes daily, so I have an entire duffel bag full of amazing old vintage dresses I want to shorten the hemline on... until I don't.

My winter involved too much for me to encompass in one blog post, but here's my promise to you, my dear unicorns: I won't abandon you again. You'll get all the weird rants, strange outfits, and cosplay news YOU COULD EVER ASK FOR (or didn't ask for). Aren't you excited?! I am.
